DO— auxiliary verb ( can also be used as a main verb )

Used to form question, negative statement, express emphasis.

Basic form———– do

past tense———– did

past participle—— done

present participle– doing

infinitive———— to do

EXAMPLE :

BASIC FORM-DO

• you eat rice. statement
• do you eat rice ?
• i eat rice ~ she eat rice,do i eat rice ? ~ does she eat rice ?

PAST  TENSE – DID

• you saw the game ~ did you see the game

NEGATIVE STATEMENT

• I LIKE RICE
• I DON’T LIKE RICE
• SHE DOES’NT LIKE RICE

EMPHASIS

• I FINISHED MY HOME WORK
• I DID FINISH MY HOME WORK ~ MORE EMPHASIS
